Q: What is the enrollment process at Natura Academy?

A: Natura Academy admits students that are referred for outplacement by their serving district. 

Q: What special education eligibility categories does Natura Academy accept?

A: Students attending Natura Academy may be identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Other Health Impairment (OHI).

Q: Does Natura Academy accept students that do not have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)? 

A: No, Natura Academy only accepts students that have an existing IEP. 

Q: Does Natura Academy have a remote school option?

A: Yes.  Natura Academy accepts students with school anxiety and chronic absenteeism.  The IEP team's goal is to increase students attendance through a blended learning model and live lessons.  Students are always encouraged to come to school in person to receive in person instruction and services. 

Q: What time does the school day start and end for students?

A: The school day starts at 8:45 AM, Monday through Friday. The school day ends at 2:45 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. There is an early dismissal at 1:45 PM on Wednesdays. 

Q: Can my student(s) drive themselves to-and-from school?

A: In some cases they may. Natura Academy is a closed campus, and students must be driven to-and-from school by a parent or guardian, or receive transportation through their district. However, high school seniors that meet our behavioral criteria are permitted to drive themselves with administrator approval. 

Q: Does my student need to bring or pay for lunch?

A: At Natura Academy, we believe that students learn best when they have access to a hot meal at school.  Students can choose to bring their own lunch, however, lunch is provided by the school- at no cost to the families. 

Q: Who can I contact if I have questions about my child's progress?

A: We firmly believe that a strong home to school partnership results in desired outcomes for students.  Parents will have weekly progress communication from case managers (teacher) and have access to communicate with the student's therapist. Our school administrators are onsite and available for communication.
